Tool Design and Build
The tool design lays down the specification for final design of the tool. SEVIC will be in a position to give you the best advice for your tool making / manufacturing process. At this stage, a GA (general assembly) drawing is produced. Approval of the general assembly drawing commences the tool building process.

The tool is then built as per the GA. There are then two routes the manufacturing of the tool can take:
Non export moulds: stay in the Far East and SEVIC oversees the manufacturing and shipping process, which gives you:
- Guaranteed asset security;
- Full supply chain management;
- Complete peace of mind tool maintenance and management – no down time;
- Production flexibility.
Export moulds: are designed to fit UK machines and are shipped back from the
far east to the UK for UK production.
- Recommended local moulding shops; tool build to their specification
- Every tool is inspected for UK specifications
- 6 month UK warranty
- Pre-UK production runs to cover tool shipment time
- Recommended moulding shops if required
Whichever route, all mould orders have:
- Dedicated project manager
- Weekly tool build report
- Video tool trials and express T1 sample delivery
- Full 3-D mould flow analysis
- Day by day mould build projection
The average lead time of a tool build is currently 35 days! Some complex tool builds may take a little longer.
